The first
century of the New Millennium belongs mainly to Biotechnology,
the revolutionary field that explores the impact
of life science and its technology on our lives and
its potential to help the human kind by bringing
about unprecedented advances in human and animal
health, agriculture and food production, manufacturing
and sustainable environmental management, thus contributing
to the quality of life.
With this
foresight, Sri Nandhanam College of Engineering & Technology
has taken a strategic initiative recognizing the
growing activities of biotechnology and with the
mission to support biotechnology research and education
and has started the Department of Biotechnology in
June 2005, with the start of B.Tech programme in
biotechnology under the guidance of our Advisor Prof.
Y.B.G. Varma.
The department has well experienced faculty and staff
of proven ability and diverse specialization. It has well
equipped laboratories catering to the needs of the students
of most of the branches in the college.

Other Activities
The
students do mini projects from the second year and
from the third year it is compulsorily. By this the
students gets good exposure and clear view for their
final year academic projects. The college provides
all the facilities and encourages for their mini projects.
