Charges
Once a student joins a mess, he/she shall be deemed to have become a permanent member of the mess throughout the semester.
Mess bill for every month will be displayed on the hostel notice board on or before 5th of next month.
Members shall pay their mess charges on or before 15th of every month.
After 15th fine of Rs.5/- per day will be levied up to the 23rd of that month.
The fine amount should be paid along with mess bill of the same month.
Those who fail to pay the dues on or before 27th will not be permitted to dine in the mess from 1st of next month and will be notified as defaulters.
The defaulter has to get the permission of the Warden to rejoin the mess. He/She has to pay a fine of Rs.25/- per day, from 24th of the month onwards which will be added in the next month mess bill.
Defaulters who clear their dues with permission are permitted to dine in the mess from the next day only.
They have to get permission slip from the hostel office producing Xerox copy of the bank Chelan.
If he wants to join the mess at a later date after clearing the dues, a letter to this effect has to be submitted to the Warden on the day of clearing the dues.
Persistent or frequent defaulters may be required to bring their parent/guardian for a personal assurance regarding regular payment.
A defaulter who does not settle his/her dues within one month after being declared as defaulter is liable to be expelled from the hostel.
If any defaulter takes food in the mess, a fine of Rs.1 00/- will be collected from the member in addition to the guest charges for the period he dined.
If the act is repeated, the concerned will be expelled from the hostel. The same fine will be collected from any other member of the mess, if he/she happens to entertain the defaulter as guest.
At the time of joining the mess after availing mess reduction, the students should sign the joining register kept in the mess.
No resident of the hostel should leave any receipt with any hostel employee towards refund without receiving the exact amount at any time.
All the residents of the hostel shall pay their hostel and mess dues only in the bank using Challan issued by hostel office.
If anyone discontinues from the hostel, he/she get the signature of the Warden in the mess card and submit it at the hostel office and enter in the register, failing which he/she will be marked present in the mess register.
Mess card is valid for only one month starting from 16th day of the month issued till 15th day of next month. Hostel inmates should collect on or before 15th of every month mess cards from hostel office after showing Challan for payment of dues of the earlier month.
Mess charges shall be collected from those who fail to produce mess card on demand by hostel authorities, while dining in the Mess hall.
