The SNCET
Central Library is housed in a 9060 Sq.Ft and caters
to the information needs of the institute faculty,
students, staff, and research students. In addition
to the Central library, there are smaller libraries
in each department, which house books borrowed from
the main library for quick reference. It has more
than 21,578 books covering all disciplines of science,
engineering, technology, humanities & Management.
The collection comprises printed books; reports,
theses, and journal back volumes. The non-book collections
include material like audio, DVD and CD ROM discs.
The Central
library currently subscribes to more than 120 National
and 80 International journals in sciences, engineering
and humanities. The library provides On-line access
to a large number of full-text journals from IEEE,
ASME. These databases are accessible on intranet
to campus users only.
The library provides various
services for its members such as - Lending of books and
journal back volumes, reservation of books, inter-library
loan, document delivery, photocopying, CDROM, and Internet
services. All the library activities are computerized,
including searching of books in the library through an
OPAC (On Line Public Access Catalog) called Self-enquiry
terminal.
The library
working hours are from 8:30 AM to 7.30 PM
